About ABtC Landscape –
Family Owned, Community Driven

From Humble Beginnings

Hey, I’m Brad Dickie, founder & owner of ABtC Landscaping. Our company started in 1998 with me putting an ad in the local newspaper, renting a power rake and borrowing the neighbour’s rickety old trailer. My dad was a huge support and was always willing to help out. Looking back, we worked incredibly hard to make very little, if any money. It was an amazing opportunity to learn, grow and spend time with my dad. From there I was asked to start mowing some lawns and pruning some hedges and a business started to grow. At the time, my wife April and I were working five jobs between the two of us to try to make ends meet for our young family. When things got busy both our kids would come along and help out. Customers still remember the days when we had Tamara and Cameron working alongside us at such an early age. They were tough and challenging times but incredibly rewarding to look back and say that we did it. Through all that we never missed a single event or game that our kids were involved in. In fact, we coached or managed their teams until they got too good, and we had to step aside for the people that knew what they were doing.

Taking the Leap

One of the hardest decisions we’ve ever had to make was to determine if it was a good idea to leave the comfort and consistency of the full time government job that I held for the risk of running our own business. However, the decision seemed to make itself when I woke up after falling asleep on the kitchen floor one night and ABtC Landscape was born. With full support of April, we made the leap in March of 2002, and we’ve never looked back. There were many sleepless nights, and many weeks without a paycheque, but we persevered and we made it to where we are today. Hard work, trust and communication have never given way to shortcuts and we believe our results speak for themselves.

A Business Built Around Values

While our goals may have changed over the years, our values have not. As you will see throughout our website and the work that we do, Family, Respect, Personal Growth, Efficiency, and Humility have remained as constant core values both at work and in our personal lives.

Today, it is incredibly rewarding to have the opportunity to run this business with my daughter, Tamara. With her help we have not only been able to grow, but we have been able to provide more for our staff and our customers.

Family

Family is my top priority and I am dedicated to supporting both my own and the families I work with, building a culture of trust and respect.

Respect

I will treat others with the respect I deserve for myself, taking responsibility for my actions and ownership of my results.

Personal Growth

It is my responsibility to improve every day through learning, asking questions, and teaching others. I will remain curious, embrace change, and stay committed to continuous growth, both personally and professionally.

Efficiency

I will continuously create, learn, and communicate new processes to improve how I work, reduce the time it takes to complete tasks, and enhance the results I achieve.

Humility

I will be abundant in my praise and recognition of others while understanding that I have much to learn. Team success will always take precedence over individual accomplishments.

Company Promise

We build trust and relationships through hard work, respect, and excellence. We transform properties into sources of pride for our clients, team and community.

Company Vision

To be an essential part of our customers’ lives by building strong relationships through open communication and exceptional service.

Our Name, Our Family, Our Promise

ABtC isn’t just a name—it’s family. In fact, we named the company after our own: April, Brad, Tamara, and Cameron.

It’s a reminder that everything we build is rooted in hard work, love, and dedication. When you work with us, you’re not just hiring a landscaping team—you’re joining a family that cares about your property as much as you do.

While there still are a lot of long days and some sleepless nights, we are extremely proud of what we have accomplished, and there are only bright days in our future. We believe that we have created a company that we, our staff, our customers and our families can be proud of.

We live local. Hire local. Support local.

One of the greatest compliments we’ve ever received was from a homeowner who told us

“You made me proud of my home again.”

At ABtC Landscape, we believe that strong communities are built through connection, teamwork, and giving back. Our family has always been deeply involved in local sports—whether it’s coaching, managing, or playing, we’ve spent years supporting youth athletics and coaching our Special Olympics athletes. Even today, you’ll find us on the field, playing in the local Abbotsford mixed slow pitch league, staying active in the same community we serve.

Just like in sports, our business is about dedication, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence—qualities we’re proud to bring to every project. We’re more than just a landscaping company—we’re your neighbours, teammates, and biggest supporters.
